FindMyPhoto Support
Need help? Email support@findmyphoto.app and we will get back to you within a few business days. It helps if you mention the name of the event and, if relevant, the album link or event code you used.
How FindMyPhoto works
You upload one selfie and paste a link to a shared event album. We compare your selfie against the photos in that album and show you the ones you appear in. You can then view them and save them to your own device.
Organisers and photographers can also host an event on FindMyPhoto ("hosted events"). They upload the photos and share a link, a QR code or an event code. You take a selfie and get the photos you appear in, in your browser or in the app.
Common questions
We could not scan my album link. Not every photo-sharing service is supported, and album links often expire or require a password. Check that the link still opens in a browser without logging in, then submit the event again. If the album is public and still fails, email us the link and we will look at it.
No photos of me were found. Face matching needs a clear reference photo. Use a selfie taken face-on in good light, with nothing covering your face, and try again. It is also possible that the album genuinely contains no photos of you.
My photos disappeared. Matched photos from an album you submitted are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Save the ones you want to keep to your device while they are available — open the event and use the download option.
I have an event code. Codes of 6 to 8 letters and numbers belong to hosted events. Open the link or scan the QR code from the organiser, or go to event.findmyphoto.app and enter the code; you don't need the app. In the app, tap + and choose Enter an event code.
Photos from a hosted event disappeared. The host of the event chooses how long its photos stay online: 1, 3 or 12 months, counted from the day the event was set up on FindMyPhoto, or from the event date if it was set up in advance. The host can extend that, and then we tell you the new end date. After the end the photos, selfies and matches are deleted automatically. If you chose "Keep me posted" or use the app, you get a reminder 7 days before. The host can also archive or delete the event earlier, or hide or delete photos; the event page and our emails show who the host is.
The link in my email opened the app. That is how it should work: if the FindMyPhoto app is installed, the button in a hosted-event email opens your photos in the app and adds the event to the account or guest profile you use there. Without the app, the link opens your photos in your browser. A link works for 30 days. After that, the website lets you ask for a new one by email, and in the app you can enter the event code instead.
I'm in a photo but never signed up. Email support@findmyphoto.app with the event link or code and the photo (a screenshot is fine). You don't need to send a selfie. The host is responsible for the event's photos, so we pass your request on to them within 2 business days, and remove the photo from the event's gallery and face index on their instruction, or ourselves where the law requires it. You hear back within one month at most, usually much sooner. You can also contact the host directly.
Delete my selfie for one event. In the app, open the event and its menu: Delete my selfie for this event stops the search in new photos and keeps the photos already found; Leave event withdraws your consent and also removes your matches and your place in the event. On the web, open the link in your gallery email and choose Your data → Delete my selfie and matches. You can also email us from the address you used for the event.
I am not getting notifications. Notifications are optional. If you declined the prompt, enable them again in your device settings under FindMyPhoto, then submit or open an event so the app can re-register.
Can I use the app without an account? Yes. Guest results for albums you submit are tied to your device and are deleted automatically after 30 days. Hosted events follow the host's retention period instead.
How do I delete my account? See Delete your account.
Privacy
For the albums you submit, FindMyPhoto uses face recognition only to find you, and only with your consent. Other people appearing in those albums are not identified, profiled or stored as recognisable persons. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
At hosted events it works differently: every face in the event photos, yours included if you appear in them, is indexed for that event on the organiser's responsibility, and you give or withdraw your consent for the selfie search per event (Leave event in the app, Your data on the website). The Events Privacy Addendum explains how.
